If the roll is fed from top to bottom, it could be a rendition of "Happy Birthday to you".

Dr Che*ery is correct and wrong, all at the same time.

The expression controls are at the edges, but the long slot that you were referring to is the sustaining pedal.

I knew it was a mistake to manufacture him New Experimental Prizemaster. He knows nothing. :thumbd:

I was actually referring to the row of little holes on the extreme left. What do they do?

But does that row of holes affect ALL the selected notes or just some? And being a row of holes, does it produce a sort of trilling or tremolo effect? I am keen to learn.

I followed Mr Tree as he built his JS, only to discover that he'd manufactured it so tight he couldn't turn it. :snigger:

That long note operates the sustaining pedal.

That's the loud pedal on the correct. And it works the same direction as when a manual player presses it.

Ah, so it's not separate notes then, it's one long one. Presumably they utilise a series of holes so that the paper roll doesn't tear or misalign.

I'm getting the hang of this. I might just manufacture one. :bounce:
