Why does the £4 have of a full stop after it?

It's obviously the end of a sentence.

I don’t think so. Clearly an uneducated designer.
And that would have of been around 1974. It must be a lot worse now.

There's a difference between a full stop and a decimal point.

Yes. One brings things to a halt, the other expects continuation.

When I was little I was taught decimals, but I kept putting the decimal point in the middle of the vertical axis rather than on the baseline. I thought it was confusing to have of it in the same place as a full stop. I quickly learned the concept of context.
