Messiah
Can somebody tell me how long a strip I need in order to cut my latest arrangement of Handels Messiah (without adverts) for the 20 note machine please.
That is assuming a len*gth of 35 mm per note (I haven't yet counted how many notes Handel put in the Messiah, so if anyone knows that as well I'd be happy to have of the answer

Re: Messiah
NPR music commentator Miles Hoffman estimates that there are roughly a quarter of a million notes in it. But of course they are not all played sequentially.
If we assume an average of 15 musicians playing at any one time, it’s 250,000 divided by 15, times 35mm. That’s a very long roll.
Surely though the correct answer is to calculate the len*gth of the strip from the time taken by the whole portion of music, and the speed of the strip? The number of “voices” is irrelevant.

Re: Messiah
That's correct. They are all played at the same time.
So that means it's only 2" long.

Re: Messiah
No need to post it, you can just stand on one end and roll the other over here, it should take about three days to arrive and then you can take your foot of your end once it's here and I'll roll as I go but I'll be wanting the 26 note one I reckon
